Steven Sims Cavaliers Christmas Festival
As many of you will know the Steven Sims Cavaliers are a registered foundation focusing on tackling concussion in rugby. The foundation was set up in memory of former Club and 1st XV captain Steven Sims, after Steven tragically died in 2012, aged only 23.
The foundation works with experts, charities, and rugby’s governing bodies to raise awareness and funds to address this important issue; allowing people to play rugby safely.
Once again, the Steven Sims Cavaliers Foundation are hosting a Christmas match between the Cavaliers XV and a Stew Mel XV. The match will be played at the Oriam on the 27th of December, and entry will be free. The cafe will be open serving up plenty of refreshments, and there will be a stall selling cavaliers merchandise.
The foundation will use the match to support HIT; a new technology company aiming to tackle the issue of concussion in rugby.
It’d be great to see a large alumni attendance, with the money raised supporting a hugely important cause.
The foundation has set up an event on Facebook, where all information regarding the match will be posted; find out more here.
